Common myths about God, Christianity and salvation.
Admittedly, this page will bring controversy. There are a lot of false beliefs about God. People may have believed such myths for a long time and are either, not able to see the truth or not willing to admit to they were wrong. I am not writing this to boast in any way. I know I have no knowledge other than what God has allowed me. I have no wisdom other than what God has given. My purpose is to correct the important issues. I do not want anyone to live their life thinking that they are on the right path, when in fact, they are not.
Myth- All paths lead to God. There are many ways to get to heaven.
Fact- Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6

This is a dangerous myth. Being a "good" person does not solve the issue of sin in anyone's life. No one can forgive their own sin. Only Jesus can forgive sin. For more on this, click:
Myth- God couldn't love me. I am not worthy of His attention.
Fact- God DOES love you. He chose you. He knew you before you were created in your mothers womb and He knows every single thing about you, what you have done and what you will do. And even still, He loves you! I agree, it is something I can not fully comprehend. I often wonder, "but why?" It is not because of anything we have done.
Myth- There are many different gods that are real. Each god has their own place in heaven or their own form of afterlife.
Fact- God is the only one. Satan has tricked people into creating the ideas and images of other gods, but none have any power. Satan is granted some power from the one and only God. Satan and his angels (demons) were cast out of heaven when, in their pride, they rebelled against God. They were allowed have power to perform "signs and wonders", but all power is granted through God and the power allowed to Satan pales in comparison to the giver and creator, the Almighty God.

Romans 1:25 they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator,

Myth- Hell is not a real destination.
Fact- Hell is real. Satan rules over hell and the Bible is quite clear about the eternal torment and suffering for all who choose separation from God.
Luke 16 :19-31 Gives an account of a man who dies (unforgiven of his sin) and is sent to hell. This is a chilling glimpse of what it is like in hell. (aka Hades, lake of fire, lake of sulfur, )

Myth- The Bible contains contradictions.
Fact- The Bible is God's word. He says that He never changes nor contradicts Himself.
2 Peter 1:20-21, Numbers 23:19, 2 Timothy 2:13
What is viewed as contradictions are actually different eye witnesses- humans remembering or forgetting insignificant details. The major events all line up.
God has purposely hidden truth from those who are prideful and think they are wise. The claim of "contradiction" is a simple way to dismiss what they do not want to see.
2 Timothy 3:7 (they shall be) Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
1 Corinthians 1:27 God has chosen the foolish things of this world to confound the wise.
